Grapes: Pinot Bianco
PINOT BIANCO, SLOVENIA
We’ve been enjoying this wine for years now. Every year, it seems to get better and better, so we’re excited to finally be able to have it among our selection. It’s a smooth, creamy, full-bodied wine from the rolling hills in Western Slovenia - just over the border from Italy.
Pinot Bianco (Italian brother of Pinot Blanc, cousin of Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir) is a diverse grape, often compared to Chardonnay, and treated in the same way. Since it stands up well ageing in oak, often it produces buttery, creamy wines. We'd recommend a cold bottle and a sunny terrace.
